2020
Today, we produce more than 400 pieces of 19 furniture families, but evolution never stops
My colleagues and I sometimes say that Faktum resembles a child who constantly grows into his teenager years. Sometimes his voice changes a little, sometimes his movements are clumsy, but the peculiar mixture of childlike creativity and blossoming intellect enables him to create great and memorable things.
In addition to the business, economic and other results and objectives presented in an appropriate manner on a company website, perhaps we would like the most for Faktum to remain as a teenager in spirit as long as possible. So that we and our colleagues don't just see thousands of sold baby cots in front of us, not just products that are drilled, carved, assembled, packaged, soaring or stumbling line charts, but also see behind it all the cheerful smile of that tiny baby who spends the first days and years of their life among our Faktum furniture. And let them see the worried, initially insecure parents who are preparing for the biggest change of their lives.
Let them feel that innovation is adaptation to changes, in fact, unwavering rebirth.

2006
Development across the board
Adding to our store, we started to sell our products on the internet. By now, our online sales exceed the total sales of the first 3 years of operation.
Our partnerships are excellent. A group of dedicated and baby-loving resellers make sure that oru products are available nationwide.
2014 was the next step: using grants, we took on a major innovation process to further improve working conditions, environmental concieousness, and sustainabilty.
2003
Coming of age
2003 was one of the most important year in our story: we bought our own home. Faktum furniture were now produced in a 12,000 m2 site with a 2,000 m2 plant and the highest quality equipment. Above all else, we have 55 devoted and trained employees working for us - working for you.
The turn of the millennia corresponded with our international presence further improving. Our devotion never fell off since the initial spark. It couldn't, mustn't have: nowadays, babies from Greece to Ireland sleep their first nights in Faktum cribs in rooms decorated with Faktum furniture. Faktum furnitures are not downsized adult furnitures, but true nursery furnitures for toddlers.
1998
Transformation on English influence
Our first export to England in 1998 was a pivotal point in our evolution. Although it was a deal inspired by the moment, there was no turning back: we got out into the world. Our business form, however, was not suited for international expansion, so we transformed into an LLC in March, 1999, almost to the day of our 5-year anniversary. The company, now under the name of "Faktum Bútor Kft" (Faktum Furniture, LLC), pushed forward with 19 employees in a 700 m2 factory.
Our nursery furnitures were designed by two extraordinary designer: Laszlo Romanyi and Eszter Sandor. The first few years of thousands of toddlers were spent in happiness thanks to their limitless imagination and innovative mindset. By this time (in 1996, to be exact) we opened our first store in Szeged, and a year later, in Budapest.
1997
New category, the "Kombi"
If you were born in the previous millennium, your parents might remember how purchasing a multi-functional wardrobe was the peak of home decor. Bar cabinet, display cabinet, wardrobe, you name it, these pieces of furniture were not only practical but stylish as well. We had the random idea of making something like this for nurseries. Then its success on the market made us realize that with Kombi, we created a groundbreaking design. A bit larger than a regular crib, but its size made it more durable, and it could be taken apart later to use it as multiple home decor items.
Our most recent Kombi, the Makaó Kombi could be reassembled as an office desk for kids, creating a long-term, practical piece of furniture. We sold over 5000 Kombis through our years in the business, excluding all the cheap copies.
1996
CNC and Viktor
These two concepts were integral in our development. The purchase of the first CNC drilling machine in 1996 significantly reduced the production time of our furniture. Until then, our products were made using handcrafted techniques, but now, we were able to produce more complex solutions. This is how Viktor, out first breakthrough furniture collection was born.
For two decades, the Viktor held its place in our collection – a true testament to its timeless design and lasting quality. Even well into the first decade of the new millennium, families returned to us for additional pieces. Many of them had first welcomed their newborns into the world in one of the very first Viktor cribs, and years later, they still trusted it to be part of their children’s lives.
From the very beginning, staying connected with our customers was at the heart of everything we did. In fact, our very second piece of furniture was born from a specific request – not just from a customer, but from a friend. And the moment we completed our very first full nursery set, we didn’t just admire it in the workshop – we packed it up and took it straight to exhibitions and trade fairs, eager to share it with the world.
1994
The beginning of Faktum's history
Our first piece of furniture wasn't even real Faktum furniture. I fabricated it for my son, who was born then. Both went well…
The family and friends visiting the baby praised our baby at the same time and the – oops: practical! – children's clothes storage-shelf-wardrobe-diaper changing combination. When I started, it didn't seem like much of a challenge. I'm a woodworking engineer, my wife is a teacher, we thought that both the child and the furniture would start off in a good environment. Our children have grown up, and Faktum has also grown into such a joyful company that provides thousands of experiences. It didn't even have a name at first. Friends stopped by the first mule nursery furniture , saying that if my son outgrows it, it might be good for them. Then their friends and their friends' friends showed up...
All of a sudden we realized that we were making furniture - for babies. This basically determined the future of Faktum - which he had not even imagined at the time. It turned out that parents with babies want more than a simple crib, they also want other pieces furniture suitable for their toddler. Faktum Möbel Bt was registered on March 7, 1994 with ambitious plans, but with borrowed capital, in a 40-square-meter, rented workshop, with 2 employees.
I planned, my wife managed the company, and our employees produced and produced. Our sales for the first year were HUF 4.6 million. Quick side note, this value increased by 30 times in 5 years, and almost by 50 times in 6 years. In the first year, we didn't even have a regular, own machine.
